i'd like to note that allison slipped and accidentally kicked apsinthos in the face, causing him and annabelle to fall down to the bottom of the chute. apsinthos was using his claws to climb and they made an incredibly loud screeching noise on the wall. this did in fact alert everybody in the immediate vicinity to what was going on
